Barridoff provides auction estimates free of charge or formal appraisals for purposes of tax, insurance or estate distribution purposes for a fee.

ESTIMATES

We will provide an estimate of auction value for art work free of charge, whether or not the piece is submitted for or accepted into a Barridoff auction. We also hold free appraisal days from time to time, in which informal oral estimates are given for submitted works.

APPRAISALS

Formal appraisals of value for artwork for insurance, tax or estate distribution purposes are performed by a certified appraiser and conducted for an established fee. Formal appraisals must follow the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraiser Practices, strict rules apply to the separation of these services and Barridoff Auctions’ auction activities.
