WHAT TO EXPECT?

We are very excited to once again welcome you to our Free Appraisal Day event!

During your appointment, you will meet directly with one of our experienced Fine Art Specialists who will examine and evaluate your art to provide a verbal estimated auction value. Please note, we will not provide any written statement of value and the Appraisal Day estimate is not suitable to serve as a formal art appraisal.

Appraisals are limited to 15 minute increments with a maximum of three pieces to be evaluated per participant.

Though appointments are not required, they are strongly encouraged, and priority will be given to clients with scheduled appointments. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment in order to check-in at the registration desk.

We will be accepting consignments for upcoming auctions as a result of Appraisal Day evaluations. You are under no obligation to consign your artwork with Barridoff Auctions. However, if you choose to sell your artwork in one of our upcoming auctions, the necessary paperwork can be completed onsite following your appointment.

HELPFUL TIPS

  • Arrive on time and please do not bring more than 3 items.

  • Please do not bring items that are not fine art. For example, we will not consider: pottery, furniture, jewelry, china, coins, artifacts, firearms, collectibles, anything other than works of art.

  • We will consider: paintings, sculptures, watercolors, photographs, sketches, prints, mixed media, and any items that can fall within the criteria of fine art.

  • Please bring any documentation, associated provenance, or any other helpful information that may help us to assign auction value.

  • We do not accept requests directly from artists at this time. As an auction house, we deal with the secondary market involving the resale of art, which is often no longer owned by the artist. Unless you are an established artist on the secondary market, the value of your art would be better ascertained by galleries that specialize in representing artists in a retail environment.
