Our Winter 2021 International Fine Art Sale is a carefully curated auction with a number of outstanding Maine works as well as those from away. The two major pieces the Louise Nevelson "Moon Zag III," which comes from a single owner who has possessed it for almost 40 years and Edward Weston's "Pepper 38P" which was printed by the artist in the 1930s and exhibited at Eindhoven, the Netherlands in the early 1950s. Maine artists include Dahlov Ipcar, Carl Sprinchorn, Neil Welliver, Waldo Peirce, Elena Jahn, Robert Indiana, Rockwell Kent, Bernard Langlais, Robert Solotaire, Alice Spencer, William Thon, William Kienbusch, Reuben Tam, John Calvin Stevens and William Zorach. Other notable artists included in the sale are Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Andy Warhol, Amos Ferguson, Anthony Thieme, Louis Schanker and Wolf Kahn. Along with the Weston, there is a fine selection of photographs included in the sale as well.
